PostSubject: Motor Swapping Time   Wed Jan 07, 2009 10:12 pm

Its been a long time since an update... but sadly its because there hasn't been much to report on Blue...

Til now...

Last weekend I FINALLY had a chance to pick up a motor... $150 for a motor out of a 2000 Cherokee... it was hit on the rear end... motor had 70K on it... so about even to what I have in it now.

Drove to PA to get it, and now it sits in the back of the Jeep.

I have some stuff that I will have to swap over (oil filter adapter, water pump/pulley set up, clutch assembly etc) but electronics, header, and intake should bolt right up.

I was hoping to pull the old last week, and slide this one right in, but a bad case of the flu plus root canal aftermath took me out of the mix.

This week the weather isn't helping at all... I am hoping the weekend will start to clear up a little.

I'll keep you posted, and try to document as best as possible.

See you out there soon...

Tony

He's about 35 minutes away so yes. Tony, you should call off on the 17th and bring your Jeep up.

Hmm... tempting...

But I would need a way to get it there... it no longer even turns over... thought dead battery, or clutch safety switch, wiring to the starter, or fuse, but its none of the above.

Brand new Mean Green starter, so not sure... I back burnered it til the new motor is in.

Plus... already taking the 15th off for round 4 with the dentist, and my closer for the 17th is on vacation, so it would take a small miracle to break free... lol.

I will keep you posted though.
