Ok...I have the front axle back. Now it's time to figure out when we can get it in. To my knowledge, I don't have anywhere I have to be in the next few weeks so the date would depend on what is best for all of you who wanted to be involved in this.

Yeah, that's it. I'm in charge. laughing
You have been with MRR for so long that you have forgotten the difference between a GROUP with NO ONE in charge and a CLUB with a PRESIDENT.

Where would you have proposed I put this post? I believed it to be a new event where a date would be listed, however, if you disagree I will GLADLY move it to the topic or post of your choosing. Or better yet, you are a Moderator so YOU can move it yourself.
lol!

kat told me it should be about 1 inch total width wider than it was, and as for the pic, i just wanted to feel like i had something nice , i will put a pic of mine up when i work on it next. it is slow working, i am taking it to big dogs whether it is completed or not. I TALKED TO KATHY ABOUT THE 17TH WRENCHING FOR HER JEEP. AS LONG AS IT IS NOT SNOWING,AND I AM NOT PUSHING SNOW. WE CAN HAVE THE WRENCHING PARTY UP MY FATHERS FARM. HE HAS A 60 X 40 METAL POLE BUILDING WITH A CONCRETE FLOOR AND DOORS WE CAN CLOSE. LIGHTS , ELECTRIC,FRIDGE AND ALL...BYOB, TOOLS AND HEATERS. WE CAN WORK ON MULTIPLE JEEPS THERE IF NEED BE. cheers AGAIN,,,,,,,,WE CANNOT GO UP THERE IF I AM WORKING, BUT IT IS ONLY 10 MIN. FROM KATHY'S HOUSE IN JOPPATOWNE.

Now I gotta search for a pre-built black n blue future shot to aspire to yours... lol

Von and I were at the barn last night and dropped off the jeep and his buggy. He wanted me to tell everybody that the barn is really cold. He poured a beer in a cup and it started to freeze in less than 10 minutes! Shocked We turned the heater on and discovered it is only going to warm the small area right under the vehicles because the barn is so big (about 2 stories tall) and it's soooo cold out. So for anybody who plans on being there for more than an hour...come prepared...dress warm!!!

Then we discovered that his dad had winterized the bathroom so the indoor plumbing is of no use either....toilet is in the corn field.crying

i do have toilet paper though,it was funny wathing the ice form on the top of my beer . we put the beer kathy brought in the fridge to keep it from freezing over night.. at least it is better than being outside and there is all kinds of room there to manuver the axle in.i will be bringing our tool truck up with a welderand torch on it.

Kat for the rear I just wanted to clarify. If you pull the rear axleshaft and take apart the adaptor again you can use the axleshaft as a template for drilling out your rotors. just bolt the rotor to the axleshaft using the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern and drill through the holes that exist through the 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern and it is that simple. Then sandwich the rotor between the adaptor plate and axle shaft and you will likely need slightly longer bolts(not too long or it can cause interference with the wheel).
I'm a list maker too so bear with me.
1. front needs drag link measured/cut/welded. (DONE)
2. shock mounts need welded on. (Fronts are DONE, rear still needs done)
3. Gear oil in front AND rear differential
4. make sure brake lines are not too short during flex. there is room to move the hard lines on the frame down to give more length. the drivers side you can move the hard line from on top of the shock mount to the shorter side of it.
5. Bleed brakes.
6. Lubricate all tie rod ends.
7. attach ARB air line kit.
8. attach axle vent to front axle.
9. clean and paint all bare metal.
I know the list is not complete but it gives you something to compare to your list.(I know you got one)

Sorry I missed the 17th... and sorry I haven't responded to your texts yet Kat.

Things are a little crazy for me right now but I am getting better day by day and will get through it.

I will be free the 24th, and don't want to be home for that day... so let me know what time if you are gonna wrench...

I have good winter gear since I planned on working outdoors on Ole Blue for his heart transplant... He will be on hold for awhile until things are straight again.

Don't want to go into too many details on forum...

Tony

Von - can you look for a scrap piece of metal that is at least 33 inches long to go between the frame for the top shock mounts? Bill is going to look for something too. I definitely want to get that set up in place since I can't do any of it myself. Let me know if you guys come up with anything.

Its probably not strong enough for a shock mount, but I have the stock gas tank skid off of my sister's cherokee that is now scrap metal that you can use to chop up and practice welding if you want

Bill - I don't want a novice screwing with the housing back there. Me no like leaking gear oil Evil or Very Mad
Danny - yes I'll take it for practice
Von - I don't think it is strong enough but if it will work you can definitely use it
