Has anyone heard about Geico's policy about not insuring a vehicle with a winch mounted on it? I contacted progressive online and they were fine with it as long as it was for private use and not a business.

haven't heard but it makes sense. I don't like geico because the go with full coverage for all vehicles. can't go some full coverage and some not full coverage. I have 2 jeeps now with full coverage and will never get my money back out of it if it does get wrecked. whats the book value of a 1979 CJ7? hmmm $600

I have progressive. They are fine with the winch but told me if I was ever to make a claim for anything I won't get full value of all the extra stuff on the jeep. I was thinking of getting the jeep appraised if I start parking it on the street. It stays inside 99% of the time.

I have Geico. Don't like 'em for the same reason... I have to carry full coverage on all my vehicles. And they only insure Max for book value. Bill, you think the CJ is fairly worthless, insurance-wise; I have the waggy fully covered, and it doesn't even run!

I did some checking around, and could not find an insurance company that would cover Max including the upgrades. There are some that will cover a show vehicle, but not a modified off-road vehicle.

If anyone finds a good company, let me know. My biggest fear where Max is concerned is that someone will steal him, and, not being able to handle such an awesome rig , wreck him. And then where will I be? crying
