Its inevitable - I'm gonna have to get a grown up vehicle sooner or later and when I do I want to get something strong enough to pull a trailer for the jeep.

My thoughts are that I could sell/trade the 91 YJ for a trailer - but I don't know what specs to look for in a trailer. The TJ is 6'1" wide from front tire to front tire - which sucks bc I know I've seen trailers that are 6ft wide. I would want to get the smallest/lightest that could transport a jeep.

I'm doing this all ...

I am finished up with exams on Friday Dec. 12th and will be ready for a long overdue PARTY!!!!

I need to fix Max up a bit... rear diff issues, so thought I would have anyone interested in wrenching over around 2ish for that. If anyone is just intersted in hanging and drinking, then let's say dinnertime for that.

Anyone interested???? Let me know.

The breathers (2 rubber stoppers) on the valve cover had cracks...

So I cleaned them and popped them to peek inside.

Gritty oil inside the valve cover... looks like some of the sand somehow got into it...

So... if that is the root cause... it would explain the oil pressure (clogging), the bearing failure ...

The tire is 285/70/r17 so if I did my homework right that means I need a rim that is 7-9 inches wide and 17 inches tall with 6 lug bolt pattern. I don't care what shape it's in or color or anything like that. I just don't want to put out $100 if I don't have to. Let me know if any of you come across one in your travels. No garage, but it has a nice workshop and a long driveway with space for 8 vehicles. I'm relieved to not have to wrench in the nasty alleys of Baltimore City anymore and the dog loves the yard. Its off of Joppa Rd in the Carney/Parkville area.

Pipe Tubing Question

I figured I would come to the pros with this one...

I acquired about 8 lengths (6'+) of galvanized(?) pipe when we stripped down one of the dance rooms at work (used as dance cages).

I know most people use DOM, but would this also be suitable for a roll cage, or some other project (rocker/fender/grill bars, etc).

Just curious before I go through all the time and effort of finding a bender/welder if I can't use it.

Thanks.

Spidertrax is awesome

So I destroyed 5 studs on my spidertrax wheel spacers last year after the lugs came loose. they are easy to replace but I didn't know the part number for the studs. I called them up to get the part number and they are sending me 5 studs free of charge! That is so awesome of them to do that and I was expecting to buy them. Just thought I would post up about this reputable company.

So I was going over some old pics and found this. I was diving back from Rausch and the pinion snapped, overheated, caught fire. had to drive home in front wheel drive with a detroit. After that I bought the 9" currie HP.

if you look close you will see the gear from the pinion sheared completly off.

Since Mud Slinger was associated with MRR and Tico and others know me as that...I want to change to something they don't know.
